Dear Members,

As you may be aware, Donald Trump has shamefully banned immigrants from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen from entering the United States. If you are a student from one of these countries, we stand with you. We have been in contact with campus organizations and legal groups to provide some guidance to our international student members and undocumented members in this difficult time.

Letter to Turkish Ambassador in Support of Academic Freedom

The Joint Council of UAW 2865 has written a letter in support of academics and academic freedom in Turkey. Addressed to Ambassador Serdar Kılıç, in Washington, D.C., the letter addresses concerns that recent detainment of academics encourages a “climate of resentment of academics.” The letter calls on “the government of Turkey to end these attacks on academic freedom.”
