Executive Board Signs Letter: Support Central American Refugees

The UAW Local 2865 Executive Board has signed a letter in support of Central American refugees seeking asylum in the United States. Addressed to Jeh Johnson, Secretary of Homeland Security, and Loretta Lynch, Attorney General of the United States, the letter expresses concerns about the treatment of Central American refugees, many of whom suffer from conditions protected under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. In writing this letter, the UAW Local 2865 Executive Board adds 83 additional civil rights, faith, and labor organizations to the original 158 signatories who have spoken in defense of those seeking asylum in the United States.
